This illustrated Italian/English dictionary, now in its sixth edition, translates the most common seafaring terms in use today, with reference to the IMO's SMCP. It also includes an extensive abbreviations section.
One of the most significant updates to the sixth edition of the dictionary is the inclusion of IPA (International Phonetic Alphabet) notation beside every entry. This is of benefit to foreign language students to assist learning and communication.
The dictionary contains all of the most common terms relevant to seafaring: shipbuilding, navigation (celestial, electronic, hyperbolic, plain navigation), marine engines, thermodynamics, instrumentation, automation and onboard systems, machine tools, types of vessels, maritime trade, coastal and deep-sea sailing, fishing and sailing.
It includes Standard Marine Communication Phrases connected with safety in ship-shore shore-ship and intership communications. There is also a list of approximately 4,000 maritime acronyms and abbreviations, an extensive reference section and essential onboard forms and checklists.

If any items are temporarily out of stock, we will endeavour to dispatch the complete order within 7 working days. We always endeavour to ship complete orders and try our best not to ship part orders as a general rule, but on occasion this rule may have grounds for it to be broken due to the varying nature of orders received.
